Blurb from Goodreads:

Being connected to Daemon Black sucks…

Thanks to his alien mojo, Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems.

Something worse than the Arum has come to town…

The Department of Defense are here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we're linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And there's this new boy in school who’s got a secret of his own. He knows what’s happened to me and he can help, but to do so, I have to lie to Daemon and stay away from him. Like that's possible. Against all common sense, I'm falling for Daemon. Hard.

But then everything changes…

I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?

No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies…

I bought this book before I even started Obsidian but I had a feeling I would need the second one and I wasn't wrong. I was going to leave this one for a couple of weeks but I only read one book in between and I didn't even want to read that one I just wanted to read this book as I loved the first one, I just had to read this one the sooner the better!

I love the cover as it matches the first one but in this one it is in blue which is one of my favourite colours. I love that they have used the same models as now the covers flow.

With this book I seemed to fall had for as I just loved it so much more than the first one which I think had more to do with Daemon (but more on him later). I feel like this book has everything I need to love a book: Romance (will they/won't they), action, thrilling, made me laugh, made me cry, everyone of these points I love and Armentrout did them to the extreme. There was a time during this year when  started going off the whole paranormal genre but with this series I am back into it in a big way.
As soon as I picked this book up I new I was going to love it as it had me from the first paragraph. I loved the ending it made me smile but it also made me nervous as to what is coming next. With the books I review I always try and find pros and cons but for me I couldn't find any as it was perfect it makes me smile just thinking of the book. I need the next book now I don't want to have to wait until December but if that book is anything like this book it will be well worth the wait.

I loved the characters, Katy was just as strong and feisty as the first one but she seemed even more stronger even if she did do some stupid things. Daemon in Obsidian I didn't like his mood swings but in this book... well swoon isn't good enough. He was so sweet but he did his sweet things in the Daemon way which made me laugh out loud. He did have some moments when he was jealous which made him act a bit like he was before but this time around I didn't care I still loved him for them. I don't think Dee was in it as much as the first one but when she was she was the same Dee as before but there was something HUGE that happened that had me crying for her. We was also introduced to a new character Blake who I must admit I liked at first but I soon went off of him.

Overall this for me was the perfect book that had me in a rollercoster ride with my emotions. Loved every minute of it I can't wait for OPAL!
