Synopsis:Indy Savage, cop's daughter, rock chick and used bookstore owner, has been in love with Lee Nightingale, once bad boy, now the man behind Nightingale Investigations, since she was five years old. No matter what ingenious schemes Indy used to capture his attention, Lee never showed an interest and Indy finally gave up. Now Indy's employee, Rosie, has lost a bag of diamonds and bad guys are shooting at him. When Indy gets involved, Lee is forced to help. Complicating matters, Lee has decided he's interested, Indy's decided she's not. But she can't seem to keep Lee out of her life when she's repeatedly stun gunned, kidnapped and there are car bombs exploding (not to mention she's finding dead bodies).
Indy's best bet is to solve the mystery of the diamonds before Lee. Lee's challenge is to keep Indy alive and, at the same time, win back her heart.

I've had this book sitting on my kindle shelf since the beginning of the year and I don't know why it took me so long to get to it as it was a really good read.

Before reading Rock Chick I wasn't a fan of the of the cover but after reading it I have now started to appreciate the cover. I now understand why all those little pictures where used as they are all instrumental to the story. I do love the colour used and looking at the rest of the series they all have different colours for each of them so you can differentiate them but still know they are in the same series.

When I first started Rock Chick I did find myself going back through previous pages as I felt a bit confused so I wanted to see if I had missed anything which sometimes I had missed something but then other times I hadn't so I felt even more confused. I felt there was a part of the story that didn't need to be mentioned which is one of the locked doors as you never find out what was behind that closed door which annoyed me a bit as I feel like I need to know. There was always something happening in this book so there was never a dull moment I just felt some of those moments where repeated throughout so I felt it wasn't always needed. The romance side of the story was so good I loved the lead up to them getting together but I do feel like there was parts that was glossed over. I loved the ending so much so it left me wanting more and making me rather excited about reading the rest of the series and even though it won't be Indy and Lee's story I have a feeling we will be seeing more from them.

There was so many characters in this book that I adored and I hope they will all get their own story. Indy was such a fun character who never took anything lying down and she was such a firecracker. Lee was also a great character although he was very dominant at times which did get a bit annoying but Indy never really listened to him anyway so it didn't matter in the end. I loved Ally she was a lot like Indy and I know she is getting her own book but I don't think that's until the end so I hope it's saving the best until last. Tex was another favourite character of mine he was so quirky and endearing as well as having me in stitches.

Overall it was a great start to this series even if there was moments that I wasn't a fan of, I'm sure this series will get better and better.
